What kind of boxes do you make?

Corrugated boxes and related products such as inner pack used for packaging displays and shipping. Please contact us for a full explanation of packaging to meet your specific needs.

What does Board Test Mean?

Board Test is a way of determining the strength of corrugated. The Higher the test the stronger the corrugated. (ex. 200C or 32ECT)

What is the difference between Mullen or ECT?

Mullen and ECT are types of tests that determine the strength of corrugated.

The Mullen Test measures how many pounds of pressure it takes to puncture a single piece of corrugated. (ex. 200C Flute takes 200 lbs. of pressure on a square inch to burst through the sheet.)

The ECT (Edge Crush Test) measures how many lbs of pressure it takes to damage a box when dropped from a certain distance on it's corner. This Measures Stacking strength.

Both types of board tests are very similar in most everyday applications.

What do you mean by "Flute?"

Flutes are the "waves" inside of a piece of corrugated. When looked at from the side, the size of the flute determines the flute classification.

  • C Flute (most common) - Approximately 5/32". Good printing surface and top-to-bottom compression. Resistant to flat crush.
  • B Flute - Approximately 1/8". High resistance to flat crush. Excellent printing surface. Double-wall Corrugated boxes are a combination of both B and C flutes.
  • A Flute - Approximately 3/16". High top-to-bottom compression. Superior stacking strength. Thickness gives excellent cushioning.
  • E Flute - Approximately 1/16". High resistance to flat crush. Outstanding printing surface. Most Applicable to consumer goods.

What style of boxes are available?

  • RSC - Regular slotted container. All the flaps meet in the center when closing the box. Your standard box style.
  • FOL - Full overlapping. The flaps on an FOL fold over each other for added support for extra heavy contents.
  • 1PF - One piece folder. This box looks like a plus sign when not folded together. When its contents are placed in the middle, the box folds up tight around the product. Poster companies might use a One Piece Folder.
  • 5PF - Five Panel Folder. This box is named after what it looks like. Five panels roll into a container giving various uses for packaging.
  • HSC - Half slotted container. This box is similar to an RSC. The only difference is that an HSC only has flaps on the bottom of the box. It looks like someone has sliced an RSC in half.
  • DC - Die Cut. Irregular cuts made with custom steel rule dies. Cutting dies are used to make curves, rounded corners, perforations, holes, etc. Examples are tuck top mailers, pizza boxes, displays, etc.

What does "tooling" mean?

Tooling must be used when a box has to be die cut. It is a cutting instrument that is purchased by the customer and is stored for safe keeping at the suppliers location. Tooling can also refer to a printing die, needed for boxes with print.

Does it cost more to have my boxes printed?

Usually, if your box needs very little print work, the cost is minimal. (Other than the initial cost of printing dies/plates) If your box has high volume print work, there is sometimes a cost incurred. It is best to discuss this at the time of your quote.

How do I get the best price on my cartons?

Each quote and customer is different depending on the current needs. However, looking at prices per box is simple. The more boxes you buy the cheaper the price for each individual box becomes. For Example, an order of One Thousand (1,000) boxes might be priced at Ten cents ($0.10) per box, but an order of ten (10) boxes might be priced at Ten dollars ($10.00) per box. There is NEVER a limit on how many or how few boxes a customer can purchase.

How long does it take to receive my order?

We usually would like a week or so to complete your order efficiently, but we do understand that sometimes we need to hurry. We are among the best in the business when it comes to "hot orders." New, first time customers usually take some time to setup. It depends on the intricacies of the order. Is there any tooling to be purchased?, Is a sample necessary?, Is there any printing?, etc. We do pride ourselves on excellent customer service and fast turnarounds. We are very efficient at short lead times and getting our customers out of a jam.

In what order do I list dimensions?

Most dimensions are listed Length (longest side) x Width (shortest side) x Depth (top-to-bottom) (L x W x D). Boxes are always measured by the inside dimensions.

Can I get a sample made of my box before I order?

Yes. We have our own cutting table (CAD) just for this purpose, along with an in house designer. We would be happy to make you a sample box before the first production run. This way we are all on the same page.

Do I pay extra for shipping?

In most cases shipping is included in the cost. However, for longer shipments there is sometimes a small fee for shipping. It is best to discuss this at the time of your quote.
